Colonel Gerard M. Acosta is a former Brigade Commander of the Defense Logistics Agency Regional Command- CENTCOM & SOCOM and currently serves as an advisor for the Defense Logistics Innovation and Contested Logistics Forum.

 

Colonel “Jerry” Acosta, United States Army, is a distinguish graduate and National Defense Scholar graduate from the Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National and Resource Strategy, National Defense University.

COL Acosta has served in an array of legislative and strategic assignments to include as a Congressional Fellow for Senator Chambliss, later Legislative Liaison, House of Representatives, 110th/111th Congress, Washington D.C., and USCENTCOM J5 Security Cooperation Officer / Joint Logistics Planner, United States Embassy, Cairo, Egypt. COL Acosta’s most recent operational assignments include Division G4, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, GA.; Battalion Commander, AFSBN-Carson, Army Materiel Command / 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, CO; Executive Officer, later Operations Officer, Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4th Brigade (ABN), 25th Infantry Division, Fort Richardson, AK.; and Aide-de-Camp to Brigadier General Robert Radin, Joint Munitions Command, Rock Island, IL.  COL Acosta holds a Doctorate Degree in Economics from Walden University, Graduate Degree in Legislative Studies from Georgetown University, and a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of South Florida. Previously served in the National Hispanic Economic Outlook Committee, 2018-2020 and was selected as a National Next Generation Leader, 2021.

Colonel Acosta’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (1OLC), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2OLC), Army Commendation Medal (1OLC), Army Achievement Medal (1OLC), Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, and the Army Staff Identification Badge.
